Are you missing one or more of your permanent teeth? If so, why not consider filling the gap in your smile with a dental bridge? A dental bridge is a great product that can replace your teeth for a lifetime if you want it to. It is a dental restoration that is made of two or more dental crowns and false teeth. The bridge is anchored by the two remaining teeth that lie on both sides of the gap in your mouth, and they can also be supported by dental implants.

What are the benefits of a dental bridge?
Dental bridges can do many things for you and your smile, like:

· Improve your appearance
· Give you the ability to properly chew and speak again
· Maintain the shape of your face
· Give you the force you need in your bite
· Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of place

What is the process of installing a dental bridge?
The process of placing the dental bridge is simple; however, it does take two visits to complete.

During your first visit, your dentist will examine your smile, make sure a dental bridge is right for you, and prepare your anchoring teeth. Your anchoring teeth will be prepared by your dentist shaving their surfaces down to allow room for the dental crowns in the bridge. This will allow the bridge to secure itself in your mouth. Then, your dentist will make impressions of your teeth and will send those impressions to a dental lab. While you wait for your bridge to be created, you will be given a temporary bridge.

During your second visit, your dentist will remove the temporary bridge and will check the fit, size, and color of the new bridge. If the bridge is perfect, your dentist will permanently cement it into place.

How do I care for my dental bridge?
It is important that you care for your dental bridge by brushing your teeth twice a day, flossing your smile once a day, and rinsing your mouth daily with mouthwash. You will also need to attend your dental cleanings and exams every six months. Doing these things will help you care for your dental bridge as well as the rest of your smile.
