Does sitting in the dental chair fill you with fear? Do you feel nervous or anxious leading up to or during dental treatments? We cater to cowards! If a patient has dental fears, Dr. Roxanne Lawrence may recommend nitrous oxide. Nitrous oxide is also called laughing gas and is used to help patients relax during dental treatments. There are several reasons why a patient may choose to use nitrous oxide. They may have had a traumatic experience in a dental chair. If they have back or joint problems, nitrous oxide will make it more comfortable for them to sit in the dental chair. A patient may be having an extensive procedure done that they are nervous about.

Our dentist will place a small mask over your nose, through which you will breathe nitrous oxide, mixed with oxygen. Our dentist can monitor the amount of sedation you receive. This will help you relax, but you will remain awake. This gas will wear off quickly after your treatment is complete. You will be able to drive yourself home after your procedure.

We encourage you to contact South Jackson Family Dental today to learn more and to schedule your next visit with our dentist.
